Hey, everyone! Happy Pride Month! The start of this month really inspired me to break out my bright colors, get creative, and create a look to celebrate the movement! I had so much fun creating this look, and I may be posting more Pride-inspired looks before the month is over!

Jeffree Star Beauty Killer Palette, Skin Frost Highlighters, and Gemini Liquid Lipstick!

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a great week so far. Today, I have a mega review post for youβ€”all Jeffree Star. I have the Beauty Killer Palette, the Skin Frost highlighters, and Gemini!

jeffree star beauty killer palette skin frost highlighters gemini liquid lipstick

Beauty Killer Palette. The Beauty Killer palette boasts 10 shades, each weighing about .09 oz. For reference, a standard MAC eyeshadow is .04 oz. The palette itself is cardboard with a magnetic closure and very slim. The shadows come in three different formulae: matte, frost, and glitter. The palette offers both bright and neutral shades. The pans are huge and are arranged into quads to easily create different looks.

jeffree star beauty-killer-swatches

All the shadows in this palette are super pigmented, but Rich Bitch is a bit of a problem child. It’s a beautiful shadow but feels a little gritty when swatched and is a bit of a struggle to apply evenly. The matte shadows do not feel chalky and are easy to work with. My personal favorite is Courtney. It’s such a beautiful shade and is perfect for those transitions! The glitter shadows are also easy to work with, but I do wish there was more glitter in the swatches. I suppose that’s a typical struggle with glitter shadows, though.

The Beauty Killer Palette retails for $45. Honestly, I think the price is a steal for what you getβ€”10 gigantic shadows with a great formula. This palette would definitely be best for someone who is either very comfortable working with bright colors or is interested in trying them out. Overall, it’s an excellent palette and one you could use for a variety of looks. The fact that it contains a transition shade is a huge plus for me because that means you don’t have to pull in shadows from other palettes if you don’t want to!

Skin Frost Highlighters. I am straight up obsessed with these babies. Each compact contains 0.5 oz of product (roughly twice as much as a Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector)! At $29, this product is a steal. I purchased the bundle to save a little cash and to get a chance to review them all. There are some slight discrepancies with the formula between shades. King Tut is much creamier and softer than Peach Goddess and Mint Condition, while Ice Cold feels a little less creamy and more dense.

jeffree star skin frost highlighter swatches

All of them swatch and apply beautifully though. Ice Cold is a white gold on my skin tone. I expected it to be a replica of Becca Pearl, but I actually think this highlighter is much more flattering. I also found that Ice Cold did not leave a white cast on the skin in indirect light. Peach Goddess is without a doubt my favorite of all the Skin Frosts! It’s beautiful in the pan but when applied, it looks like the most perfect peachy gold highlight. Mint Condition may look intimidating, but I found that unless I really packed it on my skin, it looked like a super unique silvery highlight, not straight-up green. King Tut is a beautiful bronze gold, but is much too dark for my skintone, like I suspected.

I would be remiss not to include that there have been reports surfacing online that these highlighters are easily damaged during shipping, particularly King Tut. I did not experience these issues and found that my order was very well packed, with each compact double-wrapped with bubble wrap and paper. However, since I bought the whole bundle AND the palette, that could be why mine didn’t shatter, since the box was very full. I think these are exquisite highlighters and that, unless you’re ordering King Tut, the risk is not large enough to justify not purchasing them. If you’re skeptical, you could always purchase them through Beautylish instead of the Jeffree Star site. I haven’t heard of as many incidents with orders purchased from there, but makeup is particularly fragile and damage during shipping is not necessarily unheard of. I think this is just something we makeup addicts have to deal with from time to time. Luckily, powder compacts can be repressed!

Like I said above, I think the Skin Frost highlighters are exquisite. They are high-quality, unique colors, and very reasonably priced when you consider how much product you’re actually getting. I cannot wait for Jeffree to release more colors in the future, because I will likely want them all!

Gemini Velour Liquid Lipstick. I have discussed the Velour Liquid Lipsticks a few different times on my blog. I recently used Gemini in an FOTD that I posted.

jeffree star gemini liquid lipstick urban decay glitter

It is described as a “terracotta warm-toned nude.” It actually reminds me a lot of Kat Von D’s Lolita II, but it’s not as orange. I found Gemini to be extremely wearable and flattering on my skintone and the formula is just as awesome as ever. This is the first Velour Liquid Lipstick that I’ve purchased for several months and I have noticed a strong rootbeer float scent has been added to the formula. I am not particularly sensitive to scents, but since I’m not crazy about rootbeer (I know, I know) it was off-putting at first. However, the scent does not linger after the lipstick dries down, so I’m cool with it, but I wanted to mention the scent since I know there are people out there who greatly dislike scented cosmetics.

This concludes my Jeffree Star Cosmetics mega-review! Are any of these products on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments ❀

May Favorites!

Happy Sunday, everyone! May was such a great month for makeup. There were so many new releases that I’ll be posting soon. In the meantime, here are some of my personal favorites from the past month.

IMG_1384.JPG

  1. Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Face Palette. I recently posted a full review on this palette but I’m still crazy about it! The packaging, the blushes, the highlighters… Everything about it is A1. I highly recommend purchasing it.
  2. Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. Since I have super-dry skin, I’m a big fan of mixing a few drops of oil in with my moisturizers. It helps keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. At $72, this oil is a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. This oil is also 100% pure, unrefined marula kernel oil and contains no chemicals or added fragrance, making it great for sensitive skin. It’s also high in antioxidants and Omegas 6 and 9 and is great for hydration and healing your skin.
  3. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Gemini. I’ve talked about how awesome Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks are in the past, but I am really feeling this shade for summer. It’s a really nice warm nude that’s extremely flattering.
  4. Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color. I picked this up on a whim when I was at KMart a couple weeks ago and I am very impressed by the formula! It’s been hard for me to find a drugstore liquid lipstick that dries completely down, but this Jordana one is great. It applies smoothly and evenly and has comparable lasting power to my other liquid lipsticks. The shade I got, Strawberry Cheesecake, is a beautiful coral pink. At only $5 each, you can afford to stock up on all the shades!
  5. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. I have had this deluxe sample for a while but only recently decided to start using it. It’s become one of my favorite mascaras, possibly even a holy grail! It gives me the length and volume that I get some Too Faced’s Better Than Sex, but this wand keeps my lashes from looking clumpy. I am definitely going to be purchasing a full-size after I use this up.
  6. Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals. I’m sure you’re all tired of hearing about these highlighters, but I am really impressed with the quality! I ended up purchasing this one on eBay for around $10 but it’s completely worth it to me. The formula is very creamy and pigmented, applies well and is very glowy! Crown of my Canopy, the darker shade, is of the same quality. If you can find these anywhere, I highly recommend getting them.

That wraps up this month’s favorites! What were some of yours? Let me know in the comments below ❀

Greed – 7 deadly sins FOTD

This is a look I did in collaboration with a few other beauty bloggers/enthusiasts. Our theme was the 7 deadly sins. I chose to do Greed. ✨

7 deadly sins greed makeup

7 deadly sins greed makeup gold glitter

gold glitter lips jeffree star gemini

For this look, I knew I wanted to incorporate gold glitter. But I also wanted to use a lot of products to really get into a mindset of greed and make this look truly excessive. Here’s what I used!

products used for greed makeup

Face:

  • Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in N115
  • Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Foundation Stick
  • Sephora Bright Future green color corrector & Gel Serum Concealer in Meringue
  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in Fair (not pictured)
  • Sephora Contour Powder in Tranquil
  • Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Face Palette – Prosecco Pop
  • Sleek Makeup Solstice Highlighting Palette – Equinox
  • Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals (yes, I stacked 3 highlighters to get that glow!)
  • NARS blush in Orgasm
  • Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel cream bronzer
  • RCMA No Color Loose Powder (not pictured)

Brows:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel

Eyes:

  • Morphe 35O Palette
  • Equinox from Sleek Makeup Palette for inner corner highlight
  • Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy
  • Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara (THE BEST mascara. New fave!)

Lips:

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Gemini
  • Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy

First impressions: I used several products for the first time with this look. I’ll just list them out with mini-reviews:

  • Morphe 35O Palette. I’ve had this for a long time but other than playing around with it when I first got it, I never really reach for it. Now that I’ve used it for a whole eye look, I don’t know why I haven’t! The mattes blended beautifully and the dark gold metallic shade I used for a lid base applied smoothly and I didn’t need to use Fix+ to make it pop like with other metallics.
  • Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighter. I was lucky enough to find both shades on eBay for a decent price, but you guys seriously need them. I’m sure literally every other blogger has told you that, but if you can find them, buy them immediately! Precious Petals is such a beautiful color.
  • Sleek Solstice Palette. I bought this because of Jaclyn Hill’s mini Snapchat review and I have no ragrets. It comes with 4 different colors, but because it’s less than $20, I felt comfortable buying it just for the shade Equinox. That’s the crown jewel of this palette for sure. I’ve never seen a highlighter before that was so glowy and just BAM when you apply it!
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Gemini. This is the first Jeffree Star liquid lipstick that I’ve bought in a while. While I’m not sure how I feel about the rootbeer float scent, the formula is still amazing and I think the color is so flattering.
  • RCMA No Color Loose Powder. I purchased this after hearing so many rave reviews about it, but I think I’m still partial to Laura Mercier’s Translucent Powder more. This one did the job, and the price is definitely right, but I feel like it just sucked what little moisture was to be had out of my undereyes.
  • Anastasia Cream Contour Kit in Fair. This was given to me by a friend. I have to say that I was underwhelmed by the formula of the creams. I expected them to be easier to work with. Luckily, I’d watched Miss Jazmina D work with hers enough on Snapchat and learned that you could apply it under your foundation. I did that and found that I liked how it looked much better that way. It was still tough to blend out at parts, but at least I didn’t have to worry about messing up my foundation while doing it. I’ll probably continue to use this kit, but only for nights out or when I have a lot of time to dedicate to my makeup.

Have you guys used any of these products too? What were your faves/flops? Be sure to follow me on Bloglovin! ❀

Favorite Fall Liquid Lipsticks!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

It’s feeling more and more like fall every day here! Almost all of the leaves have changed, it’s chilly and brisk, and all I want to do is curl up with a warm cup of cocoa and watch spooky movies!

The weather has gotten me in the mood to start breaking out my darker lip colors to wear out and about. Some get more wear than others, but I have compiled a list of my favorites that will get the heaviest rotation this fall!

fall favorites liquid lipsticks swatches

Left to Right: Jeffree Star Posh Spice, Ofra x KathleenLights Miami Fever, Colourpop Tulle, ABH Trust Issues, Jeffree Star Unicorn Blood, Lime Crime Salem, Colourpop Guess.

posh-spice

Jeffree Star – Posh Spice. I mentioned this color in a previous review post, but it has become my favorite nude for fall. It’s a gorgeous muted taupe that looks chic yet edgy, which is exactly what I hope to achieve! The formula of Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks are also to die for. If you haven’t bought any, I highly recommend checking them out.

miami-fever

Ofra x KathleenLights Miami Fever. I have been pleasantly surprised by this one! I bought it for the unique color, a burnt red-orange, but when I received it, I was apprehensive of the formula. It has a similar consistency to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, which just do not work for me. However, this creamy formula has pretty marvelous staying power and is very comfortable on the lips. I may buy another when it is restocked on 10/26 so I don’t run out!

tulle

Colourpop Tulle. This is a muted berry color that complements a variety of skintones. It’s bold, but is understated enough to wear in a variety of scenarios, even to work! Colourpop’s formula is significantly drier than most liquid lipsticks, and dries very fast, so you have to work very quickly when applying. However, once it’s on there, it’s on there to stay!

trust-issuesAnastasia Beverly Hills Trust Issues. Trust Issues is a similar color as Tulle, but it’s darker, more vibrant, and a little more purpley (is that a word? haha). This was the first ABH liquid lipstick that I purchased, and I really like the formula! It’s a thick cream that applies smoothly and dries down evenly.

unicorn-bloodJeffree Star Unicorn Blood. OH MY LAWD, this color. This is by far my all-time favorite for fall, my favorite red lipstick, my favorite lipstick period! It’s the most amazing deep red that looks good with so many different EOTDs. It always applies perfectly and it works with so many different skintones. I seriously recommend this to anyone that’s looking for a good red, because it’s downright amazing. Unf.

salemLime Crime Salem. This was the first liquid lipstick that I ever purchased, the one that started it all. It’s a beautiful chocolate brown that looks so 90s and grungey. It goes perfectly with warm-toned neutrals and oranges, like those in Morphe’s 35O palette or in the Lorac Mega Pro 2, but it will also work with a lot of other color families as well!

guessColourpop Guess. Guess is a super-dark purple, but in most lighting and in pictures, it pulls a blue-black color. I love this color because it makes my inner goth quite happy, but since it’s so extreme, it doesn’t get the amount of wear it deserves. I do like to wear this out to bars and other laidback places like that. It makes me feel like such a badass when i wear it, so I will definitely keep it around and continue to wear it!

Did any of these colors make your Fall Favorites list? What other colors do you think are perfect for fall? Comment below and tell me. I’m always down to discover new lip colors!

Swatches: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks – Posh Spice and Dirty Money

Getting makeup in the mail really is the greatest thing. I was really excited when I checked my mailbox this afternoon and found a package from Jeffree Star! I’ve been lusting over both lipstick colors for a while now, so I couldn’t wait to swatch them to try them out.

jeffree star cosmetics posh spice

Posh Spice is a muted taupe-gray nude with a matte finish. It is extremely creamy, pigmented, and long-wearing, like the rest of the Velour Liquid Lipstick range. I found that Posh Spice pulls darker and cooler on my skintone than on other swatches that I’ve seen online, but I actually like this color better! I can see it working with a lot of different colors, but I think it would look best paired with browns and burgundies, giving off a real 90s vibe.

This swatch shows only one layer of product. Amazing, right? Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks really are top of the line across the board: price point, pigmentation, color range, formula… He’s nailed it all.

jeffree star cosmetics dirty moeny

I also picked up Dirty Money, which is LE. This lipstick is a cool sage green and is literally the color of money! I fell in love with it when I first saw it on Instagram. It’s a very unique color and is flattering on a variety of skintones! The formula is consistent with the rest of the Velour Liquid Lipsticks and this one is so pigmented, if that’s even possible, given how pigmented they already are!

Although this is an unusual color, I think it’s extremely wearable and could be worn with a lot of different color combinations, from a smoldering brown smoky eye to a burgundy cut crease!

These products have me excited to see what Jeffree has in store for the holiday season! Did any of you pick up Posh Spice or Dirty Money? What did you think?
