Hey guys! As you know, warm-toned shadows are super popular right now. It mostly started with the Morphe 35O palette, but they’ve become widely available since other companies have released their own variations on the trend.
I recently stumbled across the brand Juvia’s Place after seeing some pictures of their palettes on Facebook. I fell in love with the Nubian 1 Palette and decided I needed it in my life. But, when it arrived, I noticed it was extremely similar to my Morphe 35O Palette!
So naturally, I had to do some comparison swatches. Below is each shade of the Juvia’s Place Nubian Palette with its 35O dupe.
With the exception of the first shade in the second row, I was able to find an extremely close or exact dupe for every. single. color. The formulas are also exactly the same, which leads me to think they’re both repackaged from a generic brand. I’ve known that Morphe has done this for a while now, but I am surprised that two separate brands would each make a palette using almost the exact same colors.
Oddly enough, both palettes are around the same price, but you get 35 colors in the 35O versus only 12 in The Nubian. Clearly, the 35O would be the better deal, but I could see someone choosing The Nubian instead if they didn’t want or need a 35 pan palette.
Personally, I am going to be destashing The Nubian since I already own the 35O and don’t need them both. I suppose the moral of this story is to research swatches before you impulse buy a palette online!
