Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a good week so far!
A while back, Kat Von D launched a range of eyeshadow quads based off her widely successful Shade and Light palette. The quads came in four different color schemes and were priced at $26 USD each. They appear to be permanent installments to the KVD line. When they launched, I bought Rust and Sage.
The packaging of these palettes is really good. The outer case is made of sturdy plastic and the compact size makes them excellent for travel. The pans are large, with the Base color larger than the others. I think this is a smart move because that’s the color you’ll use more and will likely hit pan on before the rest, so giving you more of it increases the longevity of using the palette.
The formula of both quads is consistent. Both are very creamy and pigmented. The shadows swatch and apply easily. Of the two, my personal favorite is Rust, but that’s only because the colors suit my skintone better, not the actual quality of the product.
When I get products, I like to compare them to my collection to see what dupes I can find. The Viseart Neutral Matte palette contains some pretty close dupes of the shades in the Rust quad. The base color of the KVD quad is pinker and the brown and white are both a touch warmer, but when it’s actually on the lid, the difference is indiscernable.
Overall, the KVD quads are excellent quality products that are great for travel and perfect for adding a little spice to your collection! The colors of the quads are expertly curated and there is something to flatter every eye color in the line.
Have any of you purchased the KVD quads? What did you think? Let me know in the comments ❤
