Hey everyone! Ever since the Mac Cosmetics x Zac Posen collection was first announced last fall, I’ve been amped for its release. I’ve been a fan of Posen’s fashion line for many years now, so merging his brand with MAC was so exciting to me.
I picked up all three lipsticks from the collection: Sheer Madness, Darling Clementine, and Dangerously Red. The packaging for these is really chic! It feels so sturdy in hand and is so different than the typical MAC packaging.
Look at these colors! They are so beautiful.
Sheer Madness is a sheer lustre nude. This is the first lustre I’ve ever tried by MAC, and I’m loving the formula! It’s very comfortable and doesn’t settle into my lip lines. I think this color would look beautiful both over a nude lipstick or liner or on its own! The shimmer in the bullet shifts from red to yellow and looks really cool when swatched.
Darling Clementine is a matte bright orange. It’s closer to a yellow or neutral orange than Lady Danger and is really bright in person, but it’s surprisingly wearable! The formula is very slippery though, and it settled into lip lines very quickly.
Dangerously Red is a matte blue fuschia. The formula is closer to the usual quality you can expect from MAC mattes. It’s very matte, not slippery, yet comfortable on the lips. I can see this color working on a wide variety of skintones because it’s such a flattering color!
Overall, I am impressed with the MAC x Zac Posen collab. Although I didn’t get to try every product that was released, these lipsticks are up to the MAC standard. The extra detail put into the packaging really helps make this collab as good as it is. Sheer Madness is a very unique color and is my favorite from the collection. I wish the other two were more unique colors to go with it, but they are pretty, wearable colors in their own right.
Did you guys buy any of the MAC x Zac Posen collection? What do you think? Let me know in the comments! ❤
