Colourpop Lumiere vs. Lumiere 2

Hi everyone! I hope you all have had a great weekend. I’ve been a little under the weather this week, so I took some time off to rest and rejuvenate.

Colourpop’s Lippie Stix in Lumiere is one of my favorite MLBB lipcolors. It’s a beautiful mauve pink that’s just slightly darker than my natural lip color. It gives polish to natural and no-makeup-makeup and can also hold its own with more dramatic eye looks. It’s also an almost-exact dupe for one of my favorite lipsticks, Pussycat by Tom Ford.

All this being said, I was extremely excited when KathleenLights recently announced that Colourpop was releasing Lumiere 2, the Ultra Matte sister to the original. Liquid lipsticks are my absolute favorite, so finding a liquid version of my favorite MLBB would make my life complete.

I ordered Lumiere 2 as soon as it was released on the CP site. I was so excited to try it out. I watched Kathleen’s video about the shade, so I knew the color may not be exactly the same due to the difference in formula. However, since it looked so similar on her, I assumed I had nothing to worry about. That is, until I swatched it.

Don’t get me wrong, the Ultra Matte version is a beautiful shade, but it’s not similar to Lumiere on me at all. While Lumiere is a pinky mauve, Lumiere 2 is a dusty mauvey brown, similar to Androgyny, as you can see below.

Lumiere 2 was made with the new Ultra Matte formula, which is surprisingly comfortable and easy to work with. It doesn’t seem to crumble as much as the OG formula did and I can’t wait for the rest of the collection to be reformulated as well.

Did any of you pick up Lumiere 2? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments ❤
